Humanities horrors.

The blogger and liberal/socialist Penn State professor Michael Berube has posted a very strange little essay. Berube seems to be the prisoner of his childish liberal worldview when he attacks George Bush for protecting our freedom by invoking the authority to wiretap any Amewrican whenever he sees fit. But at the same time, Berube hits the nail on the head when he attacks Protein Wisdom's puerile Jeff Goldstein, who is a tool of the Pajamas Media conspiracy and was once so tasteless as to cold-bloodedly kill fourteen people at a Thanksgiving Day parade with a shotgun loaded with M & M candies.

It is rather a shame Berube is not a civil, non-partisan, independent thinker like myself. Don't you agree?

UPDATE: You can see the Thanksgiving carnage here.

Professor Altmouse, what is your policy about straying from the assigned topic?

Exactly how far may we stray? 200 feet? 263?

I don't want to be disruptive or unhelpful. Thanks.

I advise you, Nim, to go down to the last post and to read what I say there about questions.

I do not think it is fair to ask me to repeat myself. It is not as if it is easy to speak about Constitutional Law in the vast amount of detail for which I am so well-known.

Feminists with PMS, WHY ARE YOU EATING THESE CANDIES???

They don't care!

Indeed, Fred, they don't care. "Feminists" are lazy and have PMS. Why don't they support women and feminism in the non-partisan way that I do?

Have I mentioned that I am a Constitutional Scholar yet today? Because I am.

Although I worry that your earlier post accusing me of misogyny may have strayed to some extent from strict accuracy, I've decided to extend a nonpartisan olive branch, by tagging you with this delightful Internet questionnaire.

I think some of your readers might be interested in what you have to say. Don't you?

Ann I think you should beware of the ivnitation to engage in "internet questionnaires," which we all know to our chagrin are indeed today more than ever.

The ploys of partisanship are many and varied, and you have thusfar threaded a path through the pitfalls of this minefield. Were you to weigh anchor and reverse course now, many of us would feel - and rightly so, I hope - that a unique voice is so valuable at this troubled time, which few to their credit would deny.

I hope you accept in this spirit that it was written, especially at a Christmas season such as this. Don't ever stop, please!

(PS what does "levfcrru" mean?)

Could I always have the same word verification?

(I am an amateur constitutional scholar and can be trusted. Also, I don't know how to do anything unseemly using a computer.)

Blogger Ann Altmouse said...

k ron, the word verification is controlled by Blogger. Did you know that? B-l-o-g-g-e-r.

People come to my site because I encourage open discussion. I talk down to everyone equally.

Phila, I may or may not answer your "questionnaire," which as annman001 points out, is quite partisan. And if you look up what I really said, you will see that I did not accuse you of "misogyny," but of "unregenerate sexism."

I encourage you to improve your commenting and reading skills and to engage in honest self-reflection, instead of un-self-aware condescension and arrogance.

Would you tell B-l-o-g-g-e-r to change that for me? Some of his words have lots of letters and are all curvy. And the cut and paste doesn't work for them, either.
